The Camp Koby experience provides you with an unforgettable opportunity to partner with Israeli teens as you reach out and help others in a meaningful, fulfilling and fun filled summer.
Camp Koby is first of all a fun and exciting place to get away from the every day pressures of life in Israel. At the same time however, many of the activities are led by professional therapists who, through art, drama, music and other forms of play, give children the opportunity to express their emotions and anxieties in a way that is safe, constructive, creative and natural. Counselors are specially trained and a low camper-counselor ratio insures that each child receives an abundance of care and attention.
The heart of the program is a series of overnight camping experiences. Each two to ten day module includes a tour to a local site of interest and/or recreation area, daily therapeutic activities including arts and crafts, music, or drama, group discussions dealing with emotional issues related to grief, sports activities, swimming and hiking.
Volunteer to be a Camp Koby Counselor
The Koby Mandell Foundation aims to create a Jewish response to the impact of terror and tragedy— helping bereaved mothers, fathers, widows, orphans and siblings re-build their lives, and create meaning out of suffering. Programs bridge the isolation children and adults experience after the loss of a loved one. The emotional, physical, and spiritual healing process in our program engenders a support network for grieving families.
